Join us for an evening of top class cuisine
We are delighted to bring together a stellar line up of four award winning chefs from the North - Danielle Heron of Osma, Prestwich; James Mackenzie of Pipe and Glass, Beverley; Simon Shaw of El Gato Negro, Manchester and Shaun Rankin, Chef Patron Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall, Ripon who will be joining forces to cook a sublime four-course meal in our honour and all hosted by the fabulous Paul Askew, Chef Patron, The Art School.
This dinner will take place at Manchester’s The Lowry Hotel, the perfect location to bring the outstandingly talented chefs together as they create delicious dishes as we raise much needed funds to support hospitality families in crisis.
Guests will enjoy a drinks and canapé reception as well as a delicious four course meal with wine throughout, whilst hearing from each of our chefs.

Chef Biographies
Danielle Heron, OSMA
Danielle studied professional cookery at Manchester College. She finessed her skills at the double Michelin-starred L’Enclume in the Lake District, before moving to highly-respected Oslo restaurant Maaemo, holder of three Michelin stars. In 2020, Danielle and partner Sofie opened Osma, Prestwich, a Scandinavian inspired eatery which provides tasty, fresh food with a focus on creativity.
James Mackenzie, Pipe and Glass
In 2006, James and his wife Kate took over the Pipe and Glass and have created a warm, comfortable Yorkshire country pub, where customers can tuck into classic ‘pub grub’ dishes or enjoy the highest standards of modern cuisine. In 2010, the Pipe and Glass was awarded East Yorkshire’s first Michelin Star, an award that it has retained ever since. James has been awarded, among others, the Craft Guild of Chefs Dining Pub/Restaurant Chef of the Year.
Simon Shaw, El Gato Negro
In 2016, Simon Shaw, Chef Patron and Creative Director at Mill Hills Development Limited, brought his acclaimed tapas restaurant, El Gato Negro, to Manchester. Since then it has remained one of the city’s most highly regarded restaurants and continues to enjoy rapturous applause and recognition from critics, industry heavyweights, the Manchester community, and guests alike. El Gato Negro exists as one of only two restaurants in Manchester to hold a Michelin Bib Gourmand, an honour it has been proud to receive for seven consecutive years. With further recognition from Hardens, The AA and The Good Food Guide – testament to Shaw and his close-knit team, which he leads passionately from the front.
Shaun Rankin, Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall
A champion of sustainable, seasonal and solely British produce, Shaun has been at the forefront of British epicurean endeavours since achieving his first Michelin Star in 2005 – and has won multiple accolades over the last 17 years since. What makes Shaun truly stand out though is his work on futureproofing British produce and mentoring the younger generation of aspiring chefs to follow in his sustainable footsteps. Shaun is a mentor alongside other hospitality industry heavyweights, including Jean-Christophe Novelli, Chris MacLeod, and David Mulcahy.
