Get Involved. Host Your Own Event.

For many of our supporters hosting an event is second nature and we have been lucky enough to benefit from some amazing fundraisers. You’ll be amazed at how responsive your customers and staff will be to the work HA does.

Whatever you decide to do for us, the team has always got your back. We provide you with bespoke fundraising resources, inspiring stories from our work, and we’ll even feature what you’re doing on our website and social media channels to shout about your great achievements and to encourage others to follow your lead.

Sporting heros

If you’re a sporting type why not invite your hero to come along and host an after-dinner speech. You could prepare a special menu in their honour and sell tickets. Not only a great fundraising idea, but a fabulous way to delight your customers. The same applies to authors, artists or anybody with a loyal fanbase and a product to promote.

Host a pop-up

Chefs love to show their skills to a new audience. Why not invite a well-known chef from another part of the world to cook in your venue? It’s a chance to showcase your own food offering, build the profile of your chefs and attract new customers, all while raising funds for Hospitality Action. Some chefs are also happy to offer an auction prize such as cooking in a customer’s home or places at their own restaurant.

Run a masterclass

If you have a super-star chef, or a mixologist who is putting your bar on the map, why not invite loyal customers to come in for a masterclass? It can be hosted at a time when you’re not typically busy and it’s a great way to make your most important customers feel loved and valued. Plus it’s the perfect way to get some media attention and showcase your best talent.

Engage your suppliers

We are very lucky at hospitality industry suppliers are very supportive of HA and the wider industry. If you’re hosting an event ask your suppliers to sponsor, attend or at the very least, give you a generous discount on product to maximise the effectiveness of your fundraising.

Mix it up

It’s often best to do a little bit of everything, perhaps putting a special dish on your menu or adding £1 to guest bills in the month leading up to your big event. Which will culminate in an auction of exciting prizes donated by suppliers and even other local operators.

Whatever you do, it’s good to know we’ll be with you every step of the way to provide resources, inspiration and encouragement.
We’ve got you.
