We are constantly inspired by the passionate individuals and organisations who go above and beyond to support those in need across our industry. Today, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on one such champion, Jamie Ndah of Wonderful Communications. Through his support for Hospitality Action, Jamie continues to make a significant difference to the lives of hospitality people across the UK. Here's what he has to say:

Tell us a little about Wonderful Communications, your company culture and what makes it unique?

Wonderful Communications is a strategic marketing and events production company based in London. We arrange, run, and manage events and experiences for corporate clients of all shapes, and sizes, and from a variety of industries and sectors. Our events and experiences take place in London, throughout the UK, and globally. We work with a wide range of hospitality venues and groups to help promote and amplify their offer and services to a wider business community. We are passionate about what we do and who we work with and remain avid champions of the UK hospitality industry while maintaining an open, inclusive, and fun culture.

How did you first get involved with Hospitality Action?

Wonderful Communications first got involved with Hospitality Action during the pandemic. We reached as we felt we had to try and do something to support all the hospitality workers in the UK who were going through tough and challenging times.

Hospitality Action was a shining beacon of hope for many people and hospitality businesses during the very dark times of the pandemic and the cost of living crisis. We were committed to raising awareness and funds so Hospitality Action could continue to do their incredible work.

What kind of support have you provided?

We support Hospitality Action via our fundraising efforts.

We started with a series of small fundraising events online during the pandemic and quickly progressed to larger in-person offline functions and experiences once we were allowed to socialise again.

We now host a fun, annual fundraising event, and several other charitable projects throughout the year which everyone looks forward to attending.

This helps to shine a spotlight on Hospitality Action and assists them with raising much-needed funds for the crucial work they undertake for all hospitality workers throughout the UK.

Can you share a memorable moment from your fundraising?

We've had some magical moments over the years. However, if I had to pick one it has to be the sheer determination, joy, and happiness of everyone who attended our fundraising dinner to support Hospitality Action's School Uniform Grant. We had two hours to raise as much as we possibly could and managed to raise over £1,500 which was a fantastic effort from all involved. It was a truly brilliant evening and certainly set the tone for our future fundraising adventures.

What advice would you give to someone considering supporting Hospitality Action?

Supporting Hospitality Action is a must and works on so many levels. This outstanding charity does so much to assist hospitality workers throughout the UK and is a superb cause to be aligned with. Hospitality Action gives a platform to give back to the hospitality industry in a variety of ways from providing grants to help people back on their feet during difficult times, assisting with mental health wellbeing, their Employee Assistance Programme, right through to being a friendly voice on the other end of the phone via their 24/7 helpline. Ultimately, by supporting Hospitality Action you are helping to strengthen the UK hospitality industry to flourish and grow.
