Blog. Hospitality Goes Offline.

June 27, 2025 | Author Rosie Drew

Hospitality workers switched their phones off and minds on at a special wellbeing event last month hosted by mum and The Offline Club.

Held at Bermonds Locke, Tower Bridge, Hospitality Offline offered a screen-free space to unplug, relax and connect with other hospitality workers in the industry.

From colouring in stations to journaling areas and quiet corners to decompress, there were a variety of ways to relax amongst ambient soundscapes and soft lighting.

mum Founder Craig Prentice said stepping away from our screens, even briefly, isn’t just a break - it’s a reset.

"In a world that demands constant connection, choosing to unplug gives us the space to reconnect with ourselves, our creativity, and the people who matter most.”

A proportion of the ticket sales were kindly donated to Hospitality Action and Kelly’s Cause, who are both dedicated to improving the wellbeing of the hospitality industry.

Hospitality Action CEO Mark Lewis said: “The concept of the Offline Club chimes with our mission to improve the mental wellbeing of hospitality professionals.

"Giving ourselves permission to eschew our devices occasionally and live in the moment can only be good for us.”

In the hospitality industry, where long hours, high stress, and constant customer interaction are the norm, mental health support is not just a perk - it’s essential. Prioritising employee wellbeing creates a healthier, more engaged workforce.

Hospitality Action offers a range of mental health-related support via our industry-specific Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

We also offer support for personal challenges - money worries, family or relationship struggles, legal situations or health concerns - every team member is cared for, no matter the issue.
