Blog. Fundraising dinner at Tom Kerridge's The Bull & Bear

On Monday a fabulous team of the country’s finest chefs cooked up a storm for a superb fundraising dinner at The Bull & Bear housed in the Stock Exchange Hotel in aid of Hospitality Action and raised a fantastic £16,500 to support those in the industry who have fallen on hard times.

Our thanks go to chef Tom Kerridge, The Bull & Bear for hosting. Guests were treated to canapes and cocktails on arrival, kindly sponsored by Tappers Gin and Double Dutch, before tucking into a fabulous four course menu.

Chef Simon Rogan, of Greens restaurant, for delivering an absolutely beautiful Starter; Barbecued carrot, whipped Driftwood goats cheese, apricot, smoke almond. Paired with Collet champagne, kindly sponsored by Hallgarten & Novum Wines. We also thank The Crafty Cheese Man and R.Noone & Son for sponsoring the starter course.

Chef Sat Bains, Restaurant Sat Bains, for treating us to a super tasty Fish Course; Smoked eel, apple, turnip, aged caviar, roast chicken sauce. Paired with Risky Grapes Wine, Atance Chardonnay, Valencia, kindly sponsored by Flint Wines.

Chef Patron Tom Kerridge and Head Chef Connor Black of The Bull & Bear, for their mouth -watering Main Course; Mushroom XO glazed fillet of beef, black garlic puree, shiitake mushroom. Paired with 2019 Umani Ronchi, Jorio Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, kindly sponsored by Berkmann Wine Cellars. And their delicious Dessert; Chocolate delice, mandarin and salted milk ice cream. Finally, many thanks to all our guests who participated in the evening’s fundraising, and the wonderful companies who donated a prize towards our prize draw and auction. As a charity we couldn’t do our work without you, and we can assure you that every penny that was raised will be spent very wisely helping thousands of hospitality households in crisis. From vulnerable retirees needing help with daily living costs, to families facing financial and emotional distress, including homelessness and victims of domestic abuse, we’re here to get them back on their feet.

We also continue to offer essential support for hospitality households via our free, confidential helpline, which provides accredited advice and support with issues including addiction, counselling, and emotional support.
