By working towards a challenge with HA you’re more likely to hit your fitness goals and fundraising targets knowing that every hill you cycle or mile you run will help fellow hospitality people in need. If you don’t believe us here’s what marathon-man and key supporter Russell Murphy, Area Sales Manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car says:

When did you first become aware of Hospitality Action?

We became aware of Hospitality Action around 5 years ago. We work with many of the hotel's in central London and it was great to see that the hotels, and the Society of the Golden Keys had a charity that they would support on a regular basis. It is always important that a business relationship is more than a transaction so when we asked if there were any ways that we could team up and help to support this cause it was greeted with overwhelming positivity.

How has Enterprise supported Hospitality Action over the years?

We have been involved in a number of things, all of which we have done with the support of some of our closest partners from the hotel industry in central London. Staring out with a simple raffle which we sold tickets at networking events, through to participating in the London 10K run. Our biggest initiative was to launch and sponsor an annual golf day for businesses and hotels that are part of the society of the Golden keys to partake, and this has grown year on year. Along with these great events, we have been fortunate enough to receive funding each year from the Enterprise Foundation. These elements combined meant that we were able to raise over £5,000 during 2019.

How do you plan to support Hospitality Action in 2020?

2020 look like being the biggest 10 team yet! We have lots of interest from the Enterprise and hotel teams to take on the London 10K again this July and to smash our fundraising efforts from last year too. We will once again be calling on all runners, and anyone generally up for a challenge to join us this summer!

Why do you think the hospitality industry needs a charity like Hospitality Action?

I think it is vitally important that whatever industry you work in, that there is an organisation like Hospitality Action. As we all know life can change in an instant and we all need somewhere to turn to for help when that does happen. Knowing that this kind of support is there is not only a safety net that I am sure helps the industry to thrive, but for those individuals that have used the service this plays an even more important part of their lives.

See you at the start line!
