What is Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving is an initiative, where employees can make regular donations to Hospitality Action directly from their salary before tax is applied. That means every pound goes further.
For employees, it’s an effortless way to support a charitable cause. For employers, it demonstrates a commitment to social responsibility and employee wellbeing. When companies adopt Payroll Giving, they’re helping build a stronger, more compassionate workforce while showcasing their philanthropic efforts.

Think of them as the bridge between your payroll and us. They handle the technical side, making sure employee donations come straight from their salaries and land safely with Hospitality Action. You can find a list of approved agencies on the Government’s website.
Once you’ve picked an agency, you’ll need to register your business. It’s a quick process, and many agencies offer support to get you set up in no time.
Let your employees know about the scheme and why it matters. You can highlight how easy it is to join, how little it costs (thanks to tax relief), and the difference their donations will make to hospitality workers in crisis. Need help getting the word out? We’ve got posters, emails and all the materials you’ll need.
Once staff sign up, their chosen donation is taken straight from their pay, before tax. The Payroll Giving Agency takes care of all the nitty gritty, so there is no extra admin involved for you!
Celebrate your team’s kindness by sharing success stories in your newsletters or updates. Giving back will become part of who you are as an organisation and an incentive for prospective employees.

Want to make giving even more exciting? The Hospitality Action Lotto offers employees the chance to support a good cause and win big.
How it works:
If signed up, participants are automatically entered into a draw to win a prize. The prize, frequency and number of winners are entirely up to you.
