Frequently Asked Questions
You’re an employer who cares about their team, but an Employee Assistance Programme sounds very complicated, here we explain why ours is great for your team and your business.
You may already know of employees struggling with pressures at home or work so it’s definitely important to consider how best to support these employees as these pressures impact mental health and in turn, the way people do their jobs which can result in reduced performance, lack of focus, a pressurised environment and absence. This can lead to lost productivity and potentially significant recruitment costs.
One of the main factors influencing the success of an EAP is regularly communicating to the team the benefits of accessing the programme. Securing senior management support is also essential demonstrating to employees that your business is serious about caring for their health and wellbeing.
An effective launch generates interest, awareness and usage of the services so review all the options already available to engage employees via printed material, online or face-to-face. HA offer a wide variety of printed and online material, in a variety of languages, to help you onboard and continually promote the EAP to the team. Digital material can easily be accessed by HR and managers via our online support hubs. Using our extensive industry experience and data we design regular and varied marketing communications that highlight the positive outcomes of engaging with the EAP and don’t just focus on the negative issues. We attend launch events and client wellbeing days to help build engagement with the service.
The EAP can help with a wide variety of issues. Our fully qualified team of counsellors and experts are highly experienced in personal and work related issues and can support anyone facing issues including, but not limited to:
- Depression, anxiety, stress
- Grief and bereavement
- Addictions
- Relationship problems
- Work stress and work-life balance
- Life transitions such as career progression
- Financial concerns
- Queries around a legal issue.
Confidentiality is the foundation of our EAP. The service is always completely confidential. When an employee calls, the only information that must be given is the name of your company to initially access the service.
When contacting the EAP your employee will get straight through to a fully qualified, accredited and experienced counsellor or psychotherapist who will work with them to ensure you they get the most appropriate help with whatever issue they are facing. Our counsellors or psychotherapists can help employees understand the root causes of an emotional issue and help with onwards referral to the most appropriate service/s for support.
Our EAP is affordable with purpose: competitively priced helping to ensure as many hospitality businesses can support the welfare of their teams with all surplus reinvested into grant-giving, our Golden Friends retiree outreach service and a range of essential advisory services for hospitality people including housing, debt and welfare benefits advice.
