Blog. Three Tiers of Support: Which EAP Package Best Fits Your Business?
February 06, 2026 | Author Jeremy Gibson
Every hospitality business is different – but all need simple, reliable support when life gets tough. Hospitality Action’s Employee Assistance Programme offers three tiers: Wellbeing Foundations, Wellbeing Plus and Total Wellbeing, so you can choose the level that fits your people and your budget.
All three tiers give your team 24/7 instant access to clinical support via phone, WhatsApp, SMS and live chat from qualified and accredited counsellors, using a single session counselling model with triage, referrals, signposting or escalation as needed.
Each tier also includes referral to ancillary services, a branded digital wellbeing platform and app, 1000+ shopping discounts, the digital gym and wellbeing series (live and on demand).
Wellbeing Foundations: the essentials in place
Wellbeing Foundations is ideal if you want to put strong, clinically led support in place in a simple, affordable way – giving everyone in your team somewhere to turn, day or night.
With Wellbeing Foundations, your people receive:
- 24/7 clinical support via phone, WhatsApp, SMS and live chat.
- Short term counselling and Silvercloud iCBT for mild to moderate cases, with up to 8 counselling sessions per issue where clinically appropriate.
- Referral to ancillary services including legal information, financial wellbeing support, hardship grants and more.
- Access to the digital wellbeing platform and app, including the digital gym, wellbeing series, 1000+ shopping discounts and 250 hours of e learning on lifestyle, fitness, nutrition and more.
- Critical Incident Support Management (onsite and remote) available for an additional fee.
- Reporting on utilisation and clinical outcomes, and account management support.
It’s a straightforward way to put strong, clinically led support in place for your team, built for hospitality people by a charity that understands the pressures of the sector – so no one has to face life’s challenges alone between shifts.
Wellbeing Plus: deeper, ongoing support
Wellbeing Plus is a good fit when you need more than short term help – for example, where you see recurring or more complex issues and want deeper clinical support plus fast access to GP and ANP appointments.
Wellbeing Plus includes everything in Foundations, plus:
- Up to 12 counselling sessions per issue from a diverse counsellor network.
- A starter allocation of high intensity CBT and psychotherapy for difficulties that require long term support, with the option to add more.
- The Advanced Care Team to bridge the gap between complex and long term care.
- Virtual GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner access.
This tier is ideal for employers who want more than short term help, combining deeper clinical support with fast access to GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) appointments - so teams can get joined up help for both mind and body, before issues escalate.
Total Wellbeing: whole health support at scale
Total Wellbeing is designed for organisations that want the most comprehensive, whole health cover – with greater flexibility around counselling, more intensive pathways and additional coaching built in.
Total Wellbeing includes all the features of Wellbeing Plus, with:
- No caps on counselling sessions, so employees can receive ongoing support where clinically appropriate.
- Unlimited lifestyle coaching to help people make sustainable changes in their day to day lives.
Together with Virtual GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner access available from Wellbeing Plus upwards, Total Wellbeing is designed to provide joined up support for mind and body, delivered consistently across your whole workforce.
Turning tiers into a decision tool
Hospitality Action’s EAP is shaped around the reality of hospitality life – long shifts, late nights and the pressures that don’t stop when service ends.
The three tiers are there to give you options, so you can choose the level of support that fits your team, your budget and your goals.
While many organisations follow similar patterns, there’s no one size fits all route; some smaller operators choose higher tiers, and some larger businesses start with Foundations – it all depends on your people, pressures and priorities rather than your headcount. You can start with the package that fits your current needs and move between tiers as your business and workforce change over time.
If you’d like to understand which tier is right for your organisation, you can contact the EAP team on 0203 004 5500 or send an enquiry via the form above to get a tailored proposal for your business.
