World Suicide Prevention Day: Starting the Conversation in Hospitality.
Hospitality is an industry built on people. Yet behind the energy of kitchens, bars, and restaurants, too many staff are struggling – and too many lives are being lost to suicide.
Chefs face one of the highest suicide rates of any profession. Long hours, low pay, high pressure, and alcohol exposure all take their toll. A transient, fast-paced workforce can make it harder for staff to access consistent support – and that’s exactly why visible, proactive suicide prevention matters so much.
Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, we’re calling on leaders across hospitality to start the conversation. Suicide is preventable, and compassionate conversations can save lives.
On 21st October, we’re partnering with Elevo to host a free online session for hospitality leaders:
Conversations That Save Lives in HospitalityThis taster session will give you the tools to:
✔️ Understand the unique pressures driving suicide risk in hospitality
✔️ Build confidence to have supportive conversations
✔️ Take three clear actions to create suicide-safe workplaces
Let’s work together to protect our teams, reduce turnover, and create a future where every member of staff feels safe to speak up.
