On Monday a fabulous team of the country’s finest chefs cooked up a storm for a superb fundraising dinner at The Lowry Hotel and raised an epic £40,000 to support those in the industry who have fallen on hard times.

Our thanks go to chef Paul Askew, The Art School Restaurant for hosting the evening. Guests were treated to a Champagne and Cocktail reception, kindly sponsored by The Wine Caverns and Defiance Distillery respectively, before tucking into a fabulous five course meal interspersed with insightful chef interviews and a live Q&A with Tom Kerridge.

Heartfelt thanks to:

Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen, of the Michelin starred Northcote, for delivering an absolutely beautiful Starter; Heirloom Beetroots, frozen Black Cow Cheeses, Pesto, Fennel Pollen, Scraps.

Chef Ellis Barrie, Lerpwl, for treating us to a super tasty Fish Course; Mussel, olive oil and lamb.

Chef Tom Kerridge, of two Michelin star The Hand & Flowers, for his mouth-watering Main Course; Stuffed quail with salt baked celeriac, chicory and pickled walnut ketchup.

HA Ambassador and super-supporter Charlie Hodson, Hodson & Co Cheese Rooms for supplying the wonderful pre-dessert cheeseboard.

Chef Gary Usher, Elite Bistros, for completing the evening’s culinary experience with a delicious Dessert; Custard Tart, the iconic recipe featured in our Chefs at Home cookbook.

The Lowry Hotel team including GM Adrian Ellis, the chefs and the Events, Conference and Banqueting teams for their stellar support.

The Wine Caverns, Wenlock Spring and Brewdog for providing the beverages, to Wellocks, Caterite and H Jesse Seafoods for sponsoring the delicious ingredients, and to VisionEvents Manchester for making sure that technical elements of the evening were as flawless as the food.

Finally, many thanks to all our guests who participated in the evening’s fundraising. As a charity we couldn’t do our work without you, and we can assure you that the funds raised will be spent wisely helping thousands of hospitality households in crisis. From vulnerable retirees needing help with daily living costs, to families facing financial and emotional distress, including homelessness or those who arae victims of domestic abuse, we’re here to get them back on their feet.

We also continue to offer essential support for hospitality households via our free, confidential helpline, which provides accredited advice and support with issues including addiction, counselling, and emotional support.

Our Chefs at Home at The Lowry Hotel dinner was a wonderful evening of celebration after a challenging 20 months. Keep an eye on our events calendar to see what events we have coming up near you. Or, if you’d like to host an event of your own to raise much needed funds for hospitality families in crisis, please get in touch.
