Blog. Pounding the streets of London and embracing the summer festival vibes

August 05, 2021

On Sunday 25th July, 14,000 runners took over the streets of central London for the biggest mass road running event since the pandemic, the ASICS London 10K Run.

In perfect weather conditions, participants took in the stunning riverside views of The Thames whilst running to the beat of live music and entertainment at every kilometre, encouraged by the countless spectators gathered to cheer them on. Dashing past iconic landmarks including Big Ben and the London Eye, sights most of us probably haven’t seen for a while, this special 10K Run was the perfect way to embrace our wonderful capital and celebrate the things that bring us together in one of the world's most inclusive and diverse cities.

Among the thousands of runners there were 30 dedicated athletes who took on the challenge in aid of HA, raising much needed funds to support the people of our wonderful industry who have found themselves in financial or emotional crisis during the pandemic.

Huge thanks to teams Hawksmoor, The Trafalgar St. James, Bennett Hay Ltd and Great Scotland Yard Hotel. Our own Finance Manager David Kiltie who has completed this challenge three times before and managed to achieve a personal best. Thanks to Matt    Viner representing Burger King, Brian McDonough a Hotel Construction Manager from Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels, chef Amy Taylor and Claire & Murray Mackay, partners in life and partners on the running track who are passionate about hospitality and wanted to raise money in support of hospitality households in crisis.

Collectively Team HA raised £8,700. On behalf of all our beneficiaries, we thank you!

If you’d like to take on a challenge and raise funds for HA at the same time please get in touch.
