We’re so excited to announce the launch of Social Sunday 2020

Over the last few years the event has grown to become one of our most important fundraisers, and a showcase of HA and the wonderful industry we serve.

2019 was a record breaker. Not only did your amazing efforts raise over £80,000 for hospitality people in need, we also doubled the amount of people participating – with over 100 businesses raising money and awareness of the work we do, and showing the world how our amazing industry pulls together to help its own.

From a ‘Social Sunday Session Ale’ brewed in our honour in Cornwall, to Michelin starred chefs cooking up a storm at Whatley Manor, the godfather of classic French cuisine Pierre Koffman appearing at Jason Atherton’s Pollen Street Social in London, or even a record breaking job swap fundraiser at The Fazenda Group in North West – operators across the UK went the extra mile to raise money, motivate their teams and delight guests – all for Social Sunday.

We want to take things up a gear in 2020 and truly make not just Sunday the 5th of July, but the whole of July, into a celebration of UK hospitality showcasing how we care for each other when times are hard. We couldn’t even begin to imagine how we’ll grow Social Sunday in 2020 without the amazing support of our sponsors. Headline sponsor Nisbets are supporting us in all sorts of ways, helping us communicate with their huge customer base and giving us reach beyond our wildest dreams. We’re also hugely indebted to our friends ACT Clean, Caterlyst and Hospitality Media who all have access to vast networks of industry leaders, investors, and legions of hospitality workers.

What’s great about Social Sunday is it’s your chance to showcase your business in a way that works for you. From adding a small amount to diners’ bills, to adding a special drink, dish or menu, or even hosting a special event. Whatever you decide to do for Social Sunday you’ll be playing your part in helping the most vulnerable in our industry and flying the flag for UK hospitality.

We will support you every step of the way, from providing fundraising resources to sharing stories of people helped thanks to your efforts.

Our dedicated website www.socialsunday.org.uk is primed and ready to showcase your business to the industry and the wider foodie community. Tell us what you’re planning now to secure your listing and motivate others to take part. We’ll also announce as many supporters as we can via our social media channels.

We can’t wait for you to join us in our mission to make Social Sunday a celebration of our fine industry and the wonderful people within it.
