Blog. A scrumptious South West scrummage this spring!

Back in 2018 we hosted our inaugural Rugby Legends Dinner at the fabulous Deer Park Country House. 200 lucky guests enjoyed an evening of fine-dining, expert hospitality and rugby tales and raised a stunning £40,000 in the process. Much like the beautiful game it’s self (rugby not football) the evening was only made possible thanks to team work, forward thinking and a few late tackles!

If you weren’t there in 2018 you haven’t missed out, our Rugby Legends Dinner sponsored by Sharp’s Brewery will return to Deer Park on April 27th. Former England and Bath rugby player and renowned TV pundit, David ‘Flats’ Flatman, will be at the helm alongside Welsh rugby union, Worcester Warriors player Matt Powell. Flats says: “I’m very excited to be appearing at Hospitality Action’s Rugby Legends Dinner. Being part of a team, travelling the world working hard and then letting off steam together after a tough slog. Rugby and Restaurants have a lot in common! And I’m also hoping to trade some decent rugby stories for a perfect gravy recipe!”

Guest will be in for a real treat as they tuck into a delicious four course dinner prepared by award-winning South West chefs; Paul Ainsworth of Paul Ainsworth at Number 6, Michael Caines MBE of Lympstone Manor, Chris Eden of Gidleigh Park and Guy Owen of St. Enodoc Hotel. Each course will be served with matched beers donated by Sharp’s Brewery and paired wines donated by Berkmann Wine Cellars.

Needless to say, we’re extremely grateful to our headline sponsors Sharp’s Brewery for backing the event once again. We’ve worked with Sharp’s for a number of years and their positive impact has been felt throughout our work. Doom Bar and rugby have gone hand in hand since the brewery was founded and today Sharp’s proudly sponsor ten local rugby clubs in their home county of Cornwall making them the perfect pairing for our legendary fundraising dinner.

Tables for the Rugby Legends Dinner are selling fast with over half already gone. If you’d like to learn more about the event you can visit our website here or give me a call on: 020 3004 5504

Hope to see you there and best of luck to whichever Six Nations team you’re supporting this weekend!
