Blog. Growing our Northern Fundraising Board

September 13, 2019 | Author: Jeremy Gibson

Our fantastic regional boards are one of our most important assets. Across the UK they are our eyes and ears, connecting local operators, associations, suppliers and colleges to the great work HA does.

They are the genius behind some of our most successful fundraising events and they also play a vital role in both spreading our message and identifying areas where the charity can help.

We are delighted to welcome Sacha Lord and Joycelyn Neve to our Northern board.

The board is already a fundraising powerhouse busily working away on the upcoming Northern Lights and Northern Stars fundraisers, and introducing you to fantastic beneficiaries like April.

In his role as Night Time Economy adviser Sacha brings a fresh perspective to HA giving us a greater insight into the issues impacting those who work late in to the night making sure we have a good and safe time.

“Since taking on the role of Night Time Economy Adviser for Greater Manchester, I have met with many employees and operators across our city region.

Whether it be a restaurant, hotel, bar, nightclub, live music venue, I found synergy in what was potentially missing from making it a better, more sustainable working environment.

For me, Hospitality Action absolutely helps to fill some of that gap and I’m delighted that they invited me to join the board.”

Joycelyn Neve leads the multi-award-winning Seafood Pub Company which boasts 10 stunning pubs & inns in picturesque rural settings across the north. She is committed to her industry, her business and her people and apparently looks forward to receiving regular 5am phone calls informing her about the best of the day’s catch!

"People are at the heart of what we do in the hospitality industry. The diverse roles within the sector is one of the things that makes it special; it’s inclusive with great opportunities.

So many wonderful people dedicate their lives to this industry. As an employer, I want to ensure the people have the support and help they might need when things don’t go to plan.

Hospitality Action provides an incredible service and I’m proud to be on the board of such worthwhile cause."

Both Joycelyn and Sacha bring a fresh perspective to Hospitality Action and will play a vital role in helping us steer the charity forward and to grow our profile in the North West and beyond.

At Hospitality Action, we can only do what we do with the support of our fundraisers and ambassadors. If you’d like to find out more about joining a regional board, drop me a line.

We’ve got you.
