News from Hospitality Action
On Monday 9th April we hosted our first ever Rugby Legends Dinner at Deer Park Country House Hotel. It was a tremendous occasion which raised a whopping £40,000! We are indebted to our headline sponsors Sharp’s Brewery for their kind support, without whom the event would not have been possible!
Our 200 guests enjoyed delicious food prepared by Dominic Chapman of The Beehive, White Waltham, Jude Kereama of Kota, Nathan Outlaw of Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen, Josh Eggleton of The Pony & Trap, Guy Owen of The Idle Rocks, Paul Ainsworth of Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 and Michael Wignall formerly of Gidleigh Park. Dishes included stuffed courgette flower with burrata, artichokes, beetroot & sultanas and pine nut vinaigrette by Dominic Chapman and stuffed saddle of lamb, beer braised onions, pressed potato, wild garlic and mint sauce by Josh Eggleton.
The live auction alone raised £8,000 and included a six night break for two guests across Ireland, courtesy of Relais & Châteaux and a four night break in Scotland kindly donated by Meldrum House and Principal Hotels.
We are also extremely grateful to all of the legends who gave up their time free of charge to entertain our guests including, David Flatman, Phil Vickery MBE DL, Jeremy Guscott, Alex Brown, Phil Dollman, David Flatman, Andy Hazell, Kai Horstmann, Lee Mears, Matt Powell, Nigel Redman, Gareth Steenson, Paul Tisdale, Andy Reed and Nolli Waterman. Special mention to our sponsors Chase Distillery, Enotria&Coe, Exposure Photo Agency, Oliver Harvey, Salt Media, Total Produce, Neil Udale, Wing of St Mawes and more!
