Our befriending and support network helps our hospitality retirees stay connected to their industry and friends.

Having spent a lifetime in the service of others it’s only right that they receive our support as they get older. At the heart of our scheme is a befriending service where we keep in regular contact with our members. We organise afternoon teas and dinners at some of the most exciting hotels and restaurants in the UK. We can also provide financial support to cover winter fuel costs or home adaptions to keep our members in a place they feel safe and happy.

Bi-monthly Newsletter – we keep members up to date with what’s happening in the charity and the wider industry. Each edition is packed with helpful information on government legislation, the latest wellness ideas and contributions such as recipes from other members. Click here to download the latest edition
We never miss a special day, we remember birthdays and Christmas with cards and gifts
Befriending Volunteers – our volunteers keep in touch with our Golden Friends through home visits and over the phone. They provide someone to talk to, friendship and confidentiality
Regional Golden Friends Lunches – these get-togethers provide an ideal opportunity for retirees from the industry to meet up with old friends or make new ones.

Become a member

Our Golden Friends scheme is free to join for anybody who has now retired but worked for 5 years or more in the hospitality sector.

Support our Golden Friends.

Befriending. For many industry retirees, increasing loneliness one of the hardest parts of getting older. Our volunteers are on hand to check they’re safe, to provide a friendly ear and to help keep isolation at bay.
