Get Involved. Christmas
Light up lives this Christmas.
Christmas is a time to celebrate the good things in life – family, friends, our warm homes, memories of happy times passed and hopes for the future. But there’s a dark side too – loneliness, struggling to make ends meet or even living with an illness can cast a shadow over the festive season.
During the festive period we’ll be supportinng hospitality people in lots of ways. For our friend April, who is living with an incurable cancer diagnosis, we’ll be helping her make the most of this festive period by helping cover her living costs. We’ll also be there for the hospitality families facing destitution and a foodbank-funded Christmas dinner, the elderly people choosing between heating their homes and eating, and we’ll also be there for anybody who finds this emotional time of year too much to bear and wants to talk to somebody who can help them.
We want to light up as many lives as we can this Christmas, here’s how you can help us.
Share April's story.
Despite coming to terms with an incurable secondary cancer diagnosis April's face lights up the room. No matter what's been taken from her, there are some things cancer will never take, like her zest for life and positive spirit.
April's story has inspired us, and we hope she continues to inspire you too. Despite being increasingly unwell April is making the most of life and is preparing to have the best Christmas she can.
For as long as she needs us HA will be there to help pay for the essentials so she can focus on living life.
Your donations will help transform lives this Christmas and beyond.
Just £10 could cover the cost of a trip to Santa's Grotto for a hospitality family facing financial hardship this Christmas.
Whereas a gift of £50 could help us pay for travel costs so an elderly beneficiary can spend Christmas day with loved ones - a trip they couldn't afford to make without our help.
£100 could keep a beneficiary warm through most of the winter thanks to our Winter Fuel Grant.
For those suffering with cancer like April there are lots of things we can do to make life more comfortable and dignified. A gift of £40 could buy a specialist bra for a patient who's had a mastectomy and just £50 could buy a blender for those no longer able to swallow solid food due to their illness.
Add £1 on the bill, cloakroom, a dish or festive drink.
Simply adding £1 to diners' bills during the festive season is one of the easiest ways to fundraise for Hospitality Action. It doesn't have to stop there, if you're hosting lots of Christmas revellers then asking for a donation on the cloakroom can also be an amazing money spinner.
It would also be amazing to add a small donation to a special dish - say a seasonal dessert, or even to a special HA Christmas cocktail. There are loads of ways to raise funds and to share the important work we do with your loyal customers.
We've got lots of fundraising resources to support you, get in touch to find out more.

Alternatively you can send an ecard to show your support. It’s quick, easy and kinder to the environment than a postal card and it can be personalised with your logo and message.
Attend our carol concert.
We are joining forces with our friends from The Clink Charity to celebrate the festive season with a Christmas carol service on Monday 16th December at St Luke's Church, London.
The address will be given by Reverend Jonathan Aitken with festive readings from key hospitality figures, Hospitality Action beneficiaries and Clink graduates and guests will enjoy singing along to popular Christmas carols.
After the service we'll be serving traditional mulled wine and hot and cold canapés prepared by the team at Clink Events at the Chelsea Gardener on Sydney Street followed by a raffle giving guests the chance to win some fantastic prizes.
Tickets are just £50.
