William Baxter CBE, HA Chairman
William has over 20 years experience in senior management positions in contract catering. He co-founded Baxter & Platts in 1987 which became the country’s leading contract caterer in the 90s. In 2000 he co-founded BaxterSmith, which later merged with WSH to become BaxterStorey. William was awarded a CBE in the 2009/10 New Year’s Honours List and was the recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Cateys.
Founder and Owner, The Social Company
Jason Atherton started out working alongside great chefs including Pierre Koffmann, Marco Pierre White, Nico Ladenis and Ferran Adria at el Bulli, before joining the Gordon Ramsay Group in 2001. After launching ‘Maze’ in London and overseeing the opening of five more ‘Maze’ restaurants globally, Jason left Gordon Ramsay Holdings to launch his own restaurant company, Jason Atherton restaurants.
Jason was awarded ‘Chef Of The Year’ in 2012 by ‘Caterer and Hotelkeeper’, which for a chef, Jason has likened to winning an Oscar.
Jon Dee, HA Hon Treasurer
Jon is a director within BDO’s Business Risk Services team. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in providing assurance and consultancy services across both the public and private sectors and is a “hands on” individual who actively seeks to contribute to his clients??? success.
HR Director, Premier Inn & Shared Services
Amanda began her career as a graduate within the Hilton Group before moving to the Celtic Manor, Marriott Hotels, GE Healthcare, Lloyds Pharmacy and the Spirit Group where she held a number of senior operational and HR roles. Amanda joined Whitbread in September 2008 as Head of HR for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants to lead the HR Strategy and was promoted in March 2011 to her current role.
Simon Dobson, HA Vice Chairman
Simon has held numerous general manager positions across the hospitality industry. Simon joined Delaware North in June 2004 as MD and has leveraged his breadth of experience to help the company and is affiliated to a number of leading industry bodies. Simon left DNC in July 2013.
Andrew Guy MBE
CEO, Eds Easy Diner
Andrew is a former Chairman of the Restaurant Association of Great Britain and Director of the BHA. He continues to be a member of the National Executive and of the Finance Committee and was elected a Lifetime Fellow of the BHA in June 2007.
A life-long caterer in 1992, Sue was appointed as the first Director of Catering and Retail Services and the first woman to join the Management Board at the House of Commons. With over 30 years experience in hospitality, over half of which has been working at a senior level in public service, Sue brings a wealth of knowledge to HA.
Matt Johnson, Managing Director, Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division
Matt has been a Trustee since 2010 and brings a vast range of skills and expertise to the charity. Bunzl Catering Supplies are constant supporters of the charity and continue to raise both funds and awareness for HA.

Managing Director, Red Carnation Hotels
Jonathan has worked in hotels since leaving Westminster College with a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management. Jonathan joined RCH in 1998 as General Manager of The Rubens Hotel. In 2009 Jonathan was named Hotelier of the Year at the world-renowned Hotel Catey Annual Industry Awards organised by the Caterer & Hotelkeeper. He was elected as Chair of the Hospitality Action Alcohol & Drug Awareness Seminars in 2012.
Managing Director, Unilever Foodsolutions
Tracey began her career at Sainsbury’s before moving to Tesco. In 1991 Tracey moved to Unilever and has held a variety of roles within the company including Chairman for Central Europe, managing the whole Unilever portfolio across six countries. Tracey returned to the UK in 2009 when she became MD of Unilever Foodsolutions UK and Ireland.
Robert Walton MBE
President, The Restaurant Association
Robert is the President of The Restaurant Association which provides professional guidance to members and represents their views to Government. Robert is also proprietor of Trunkwell Mansion House in Reading, Chairman of the Nth Degree Club and has been a HA Trustee since 2010.
Director of Healthcare and Senior Living, Compass Group Europe & Japan
Ian has worked in hospitality for his entire career and has held a variety of senior positions. Prior to joining Compass in January 2004, he had a four year spell in Hong Kong and China as Managing Director of Sodexo.
Ian is now Director of Healthcare and Senior Living for Compass Group Europe and Japan.
Andrew Latham MSc MIH
Andrew has worked in the hospitality industry for much of his career and has held a number of senior and board appointments ending up as CEO of SFI Group plc. Andrew led the recovery and repositioning of what became Speymill plc as CEO/Group Managing Director and now runs his own interim director and consultancy business. Andrew is an active member of the St John Ambulance and is also Chair of the HA Grants & Advisory Committee.
David Walker JP FIH
Managing Director, Managed Hotels UK&I, InterContinental Hotels Group
David has a wealth of senior leadership experience spanning a highly successful 37 year career in hospitality. David is currently leading a major project across all IHG brands in over 600 hotels throughout Europe and prior to this was IHG’s Olympic Operations lead for London 2012. David is also chairman of the HA North West Regional Board.

Ringo is the CEO and founder of Zenith Hygiene Group, the UK’s largest independent manufacturer and supplier of cleaning and hygiene products. Ringo is hugely committed to the personal development of his team and supports a great many charities, both personally and through Zenith Hygiene Group Plc.
Chairman, CH&Co Group
Following the merger of CH&Co with HCM Group, Tim became Chairman of the Board of Directors for the new company, CH&Co Group. Tim originally trained as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse and was also Financial Controller of Marvel Comics. At the time CH&Co began in 1991, Tim was Financial Director of RWS, one of Europe’s largest technical translation companies, a role that he performed in parallel with guiding CH&Co’s finances, until he relinquished this
position in 2000 to concentrate full-time on CH&Co.
