William Baxter CBE, HA Chairman
William has over 20 years experience in senior management positions in contract catering. He co-founded Baxter & Platts in 1987 which became the country’s leading contract caterer in the 90s. In 2000 he co-founded BaxterSmith, which later merged with WSH to become BaxterStorey. William was awarded a CBE in the 2009/10 New Year’s Honours List and was the recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Cateys.
Jon Dee, HA Hon Treasurer
Jon is a director within BDO’s Business Risk Services team. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience in providing assurance and consultancy services across both the public and private sectors and is a “hands on” individual who actively seeks to contribute to his clients success.
Simon Dobson FIH, HA Vice Chairman
Having initially trained with Trust House Forte, Simon subsequently held numerous general management positions within the Sodexo leisure businesses, culminating in the role of MD. In 2004 Simon joined Delaware North Companies and lead their return to the European market in the role of MD. Having established an infrastructure he went onto oversee their growth across sporting venues, leisure venues & airports. Simon left DNC in 2013 and has subsequently established a successful project delivery & consulting business. Having joined HA’s London Board in 2004 and subsequently becoming a Trustee, Simon also serves as Vice Chair and as a member of the Finance Committee.
Andrew Guy MBE FIH BSc
Andrew is former Chief Executive of Ed’s Easy Diner Holdings Ltd and is currently Non-Executive Chairman of the Coaching Inn Group Ltd and Crepeaffaire Ltd as well as Executive Chairman of Reco-Air Ltd. Andrew has a lifetime of experience in the hospitality industry and is a valued trustee.
Matt Johnson, Managing Director, Bunzl Catering & Hospitality Division
Matt has been a Trustee since 2010 and brings a vast range of skills and expertise to the charity. Bunzl Catering Supplies are constant supporters of the charity and continue to raise both funds and awareness for HA.
Managing Director, Red Carnation Hotels
Jonathan has worked in hotels since leaving Westminster College with a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management. Jonathan joined RCH in 1998 as General Manager of The Rubens Hotel. In 2009 Jonathan was named Hotelier of the Year at the world-renowned Hotel Catey Annual Industry Awards organised by the Caterer & Hotelkeeper. He was elected as Chair of the Hospitality Action Alcohol & Drug Awareness Seminars in 2012.
Managing Director, Unilever Food Solutions UK & Ireland
Prior to becoming MD at Unilever Food Solutions UK & Ireland Hazel was Global VP for Marketing in E-commerce. Hazel has worked for a variety of companies including Shell and P&G alongside some inspirational leaders. She enjoys understanding consumers and shoppers and helping her teams to develop.
Robert Walton MBE
President, The Restaurant Association
Robert is the President of The Restaurant Association which provides professional guidance to members and represents their views to Government. Robert is also proprietor of Trunkwell Mansion House in Reading, Chairman of the Nth Degree Club and has been a HA Trustee since 2010.
Ian has worked in hospitality for his entire career and has held a variety of senior positions. Prior to joining Compass in January 2004, he had a four year spell in Hong Kong and China as Managing Director of Sodexo.
Ian is currently undertaking a Master’s in Coaching and Mentoring and is beginning to develop his own practice, combining experience and a genuine desire to work in the service of his clients success.
Andrew is the longest serving Trustee and has worked in the hospitality industry for much of his career holding a number of senior and board appointments ending up as CEO of SFI Group plc. Andrew led the recovery and repositioning of what became Speymill plc as CEO. Andrew is an active member of St John Ambulance, is a Community First Responder for the NHS Ambulance Service and is also Chair of the HA Grants & Advisory Committee.
David Walker JP FIH
David has a wealth of senior leadership experience spanning a highly successful 37 year career in hospitality. David is currently leading a major project across all IHG brands in over 600 hotels throughout Europe and prior to this was IHG’s Olympic Operations lead for London 2012. David was also chairman of the HA Northern Regional Board for a number of years.
CEO, Zenith Hygiene Group Plc
Ringo is the CEO and founder of Zenith Hygiene Group, the UK’s largest independent manufacturer and supplier of cleaning and hygiene products. Ringo is hugely committed to the personal development of his team and supports a great many charities, both personally and through Zenith Hygiene Group Plc.
Chairman, CH&Co Group
Following the merger of CH&Co with HCM Group, Tim became Chairman of the Board of Directors for the new company, CH&Co Group. Tim originally trained as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse and was also Financial Controller of Marvel Comics. At the time CH&Co began in 1991, Tim was Financial Director of RWS, one of Europe’s largest technical translation companies, a role that he performed in parallel with guiding CH&Co’s finances, until he relinquished this position in 2000 to concentrate full-time on CH&Co.
Director of WSH
Simon commenced his hospitality career as a Chef within London Hotels. Eventually becoming a restaurant owner and subsequently developing the WSH brands throughout the UK and northern Europe. His passion for food, people, service and style have kept Simon at the top of his profession for many years.
